That course kicked my ass today, bad. It’s been a really long time since I’ve run that poorly.

Heh-- you and me both; I got my ass kicked by that stupid grass cross-country race last weekend. I took it down a notch this week, resting on Wednesday, and my hill workout last night was very encouraging. I'm out for revenge in my 5K this evening.

Did I forget to mention that the point is that it'll knock the snot out of you. But you have the right idea because then you dust yourself off and answer the bell for the next round and maybe, just maybe, you don't get quite so beat up. You'll never really beat it. But you just may reach an accomodation with it.

Remember, I did mention the spot where I just want to quit every time I run that course. And I first ran it in 1971.
