About the Author

Me near the end of Grete's Gallop, Oct. 2009Robert James Reese is originally from Colorado, but calls East Harlem NYC home now. He’s a web developer working for a startup in midtown Manhattan. Back in 2005, he graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in English Literature.

Robert first started running back in high school because his boxing coach told him he had to get in his roadwork. A couple Bolder Boulders later and it seemed as though he was hooked; running had become as important as the boxing that spawned it. But a failed marathon attempt in late 2001 led to a 6 year hiatus from any type of serious training. Then, in early 2008, he finally pulled his head out of his ass and returned to the roads.

So far, he’s finished five marathons, including a 9th place overall finish in Delaware (which earned him a really cool bobble-head trophy) and a 2:57:52 in Philadelphia. He won a 5K in Brooklyn once, but it was a very small race (like 100 runners) so it doesn’t really count.

Robert is also very talented at writing in the third person.
