I ran a 1:22:57 half marathon out in Brooklyn this morning. That 6:19/mile overall pace was good enough for 75th out of 7,006. It was also a new personal best and a NYCM qualifier. The race was far from smooth sailing though. I really, really didn’t want to wake up this morning. [...] Rough day out in Brooklyn today. I finished with a new personal record by 13 seconds (1:27:17 was the official time), but I was anticipating a much bigger improvement. More importantly, I was expecting myself to run a better race. Instead of running hard the whole 13.1, I just sort of gave [...] Thank god it’s Friday. I was having so much trouble sitting still and concentrating at work today.
